SPECIAL MISSION - Dedication of The Sacred Stone, Ranger, TX, Saturday. Aug. 4, 2007.

The citizens of Ranger, TX, have invited the PGR to participate in the dedication of The Sacred Stone, a Vietnam war memorial honoring those who served from Ranger. This small town had 78 veterans who served in Vietnam and a total of 184 who served during the Vietnam era. They have invited and expect dignitaries from the Governor's staff, the Attorney General's office, the Under Secretary of Veterans Affairs, dignitaries from the American Legion, VFW, and DAV. Fort Hood will also provide an Apache helicopter flyover.

The Stone will be unveiled by General Richard Carey, USMC (Retired), who was one of the first U.S. military commanders in Vietnam and by Mrs. L. M. Rogers, a Gold Star Mother from Ranger, whose son made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.
