American Legion Post 275 will be holding a re-dedication ceremony for the Hord Cabin as a Texas Historical Landmark. Several dignitaries will be present, to include Senator Royce West, Dallas County Judge Foster and Dallas City Council Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Elba Garcia. At the conclusion of the dedication the local Boy Scouts will be holding a "Retirement Ceremony" for several flags that are ready to be retired from American Legion Posts in the area. The Patriot Guard has been asked by the Post Commander to provide a flag line for the dedication and retirement ceremonies. Ride Captain Steve Inmon will be there with 60 flags for us to use.
Date: Saturday, 13 Oct 07, ceremony begins at 1100 and will last approximately 40-45 minutes.

Staging: We will not have an off-site staging area, instead all riders are asked to meet at the Post between 0930 and 1000. The bikes will be parking on the north side of the driveway, backing into the grass area so they are facing the cabin and ceremonies. All cages will be parked as directed when they arrive. Flag line will be in place by 1030.
Please note: They will be blocking the entrance to the post at 1045, no vehicles will be allowed in after that time so if you plan on attending, PLEASE plan on arriving no later than 1030. There will be refreshments at the post after the ceremonies have ended, and for those needing to fill up before leaving, gas is available nearby as well.
Weather: As of this posting, forecast is for partly cloudy skies with temps in the lower 80's. The ceremonies will be held outside so please dress accordingly.
Directions to the Post: From I-30 exit Cockrell Hill Rd (exit 39) and go south. Post is approximately 3.8 miles and located on the east (left) side of the road. Coming from Loop 12/Walton Walker, exit Illinois and head east, then to Cockrell Hill and go south. Post is approximately 1/2 mile on the east (left) side of road.
