This is a two-part, two day mission. We will provide a flag line for the
funeral service on Saturday, 12 April 08 at 1100 at the Christian Stronghold
Baptist Church in Mesquite (Dallas). Burial will be at the DFW National
Cemetery, Shelter B, on Monday, 14 April 08 at 1000, at which time we will
provide a flag line as well.
Saturday, 12 April - Staging: 0930-1000 at the Dallas Library, intersection
of Jim Miller Rd and Everglade Rd., Mesquite (Dallas). Safety brief at
1000, KSU at 1015 for the short ride to the church to have flag line in place by
1030.
Directions to Library: From Hwy 30 (east or west) exit Jim Miller Rd. head
south to Everglade (second light after highway), turn left. Make immediate
right into library parking lot and turn to the left. We will stage on the
east side of the library parking lot. WORD OF CAUTION!! There is MAJOR road
construction on Jim Miller Rd. just past the highway intersection. Please use
caution and look for potholes and loose gravel. Due to construction, we
will not have food, gas or restrooms available at the staging area. If the
library is open we may be able to use their facilities.
Services: Will be held at the Christian Stronghold Baptist Church, 6810
Samuel Blvd, Dallas, at 1100. We will provide a flag line before the service
begins and will stay there until the service has ended as the family has
requested we have the flags there at the conclusion of the church services.
Monday, 14 April - Staging: 0915-0930 on Patriot Ave across from Shelter B
at DFW National Cemetery. Again, use caution riding on Mountain Creek
Parkway due to the construction. You may want to add a little time for travel
since the construction crews may be working and there could be delays along the
route. Other services will be in progress so please keep bike pipe noise at a
minimum.
Service: 1000 Shelter B at DFW National Cemetery.
Weather: Sunny skies with highs around 70. Please bring water for
hydration.
Iron Horses if you can, cages are welcome and as usual, ALL bike groups are
invited to join us. The flag truck will be there. If the PGR store is
present, it will be open for purchasing any goodies at the staging area up until
the safety brief, then will close and it won't be available until after our
mission is complete and we are off the church proper. The store will not be
available on the grounds at DFW National Cemetery.
Please join us as we "Stand Tall and Silent" to honor this Air Force veteran
and his family.
Respectfully submitted,
Wendy Ingersoll
Don Massey
