Fellow riders,

In way too many cases most of you do not have contact with the families
we honor. I wish all the families could personally thank each and every one
of you in person for what you do for them, but I know that is not possible.
However, when we receive a letter of gratitude, I want each of you to read it
whether you attended that particular mission or not. All of the letters
received say basically the same thing. Thank you. You have earned their praise,
even though you do not seek it nor want it. What we do is hard. It is
emotionally hard and often physically hard. I try to thank each of you personally and
have encouraged the Ride Captains to do the same. Still, it is not nearly the
same as having the family do it. Below are two letters from recent missions
that say it much better than me. These are for you.

From the family of Dennis Whiteside

I would like to thank the Patriot Guard Riders for their outstanding
professional display at my brother's funeral on 4-12-08 and 4-14-08. You guys
really made an impression on every one. I had a lot of people wondering where
you guys came from and who you were. You really made my family feel special. I
look forward to finding the information for joining your fine organization,
for I am myself a veteran and motorcyclist. My hat is off to you guys. Thanks

Alfred Whiteside

From the family of Clu Flu Lusk

Patriot Guard Riders

On behalf of the Lusk Family, I want to express our deep appreciation for
your presence at Clu Flu's funeral and committal service held in March.

We were honored and humbled by all of you who were there to help us through
that day. The weather presented many challenges, but you all were there
standing in the cold and wind and sleet. You are a remarkable group of men.

May God bless you all in special ways. We will forever remember how the
Patriot Guard Riders were there to pay tribute to a fellow soldier and true
American.

Sincerely,
Diane Lusk

Well done,

Bill
