FINAL ITINERARY
SSgt James W. Nichols
United States Army Retired
August 13, 2008

Ride Captain:
Bill Sides, 972/935-8016
Part 1 – Funeral Service, Wednesday, August 13, 2008 , 1:00 PM
Staging 12:00 PM
St. Joseph's Catholic Church
1927 SW Green Oaks Blvd.
Arlington, TX 76107
Plan to arrive not later than 11:50 a.m. at the St. Joseph’s Catholic
Church. We will place the flags prior to 11:55 a.m. and stand the flag line until
shortly after commencement of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. At that time
we will remove the flags and prepare for the mission Part 2. Big flag bike
riders and other riders wishing to ride as an escort will remain with the
funeral procession to escort the family to the cemetery. Patriot Guard
Riders will not provide road guard services.
We will need 4-6 PGR Riders to go with the Ride Captain to the cemetery to
assist in setting up the flag line and preparing for the arrival of the family
and funeral procession.
Flag/water truck will be present at the Funeral Service but will not go to
Internment. Please be responsible for your own water/Gatorade at Interment.

Part 2 – Interment Service, DFW National Cemetery - Wednesday, August 13,
2008 , 2:30 PM
Staging - 1:45 PM – 2:15 PM . Flag line in place ASAP after 2:00 service
Please park on the road in the assembly area below shelter A. We will use
flags already in storage at shelter A and place them in the ground in the PVC
pipe recently installed for that purpose.

It is my understanding that Mountain Creek Parkway is now open from I-20 to
the cemetery but that the road is rough and construction is ongoing. The
best route is likely still to be Spur 408 to Keist to Mountain Creek and then
to the cemetery.
Also please note that other services may be in progress as we are entering
or leaving the area so please keep bike pipe/radio/etc., noise to a minimum.
Thanks.

Weather: Mostly sunny with a high of 95 degrees. There will be a
flag/water truck at the Funeral Service only. Please hydrate early and make sure you
have plenty of water/Gatorade on hand if you are in the escort. As always,
one of the keys to proper hydration is to start hydrating early, the day prior
to the mission is not too soon to start. It is, in fact, recommended by the
experts.
Iron Horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall, silent, and with honor
and respect for this Veteran and his family.
Respectfully Submitted,
Bill Sides
North Texas Ride Captain
