Safety Briefing: 8:45 – 8:55 AM
9:00 AM: Begin procession to Kaufman. We will have police and constable
escort. There will be no PGR road guarding. Flag bikes are encouraged since
the organizers are trying to get the town to turn out for this event. The
park is on the south side of town, next door to the city library and across
the street from the junior high so parking should not be a problem.
Hopefully you have already heard that the AVTT (American Veterans Traveling
Tribute) Vietnam Wall is being purchased by Kaufman County to be on permanent
display at our veteran’s park in Kaufman. We are taking delivery on
Saturday, August 30, 2008. Riders and others will meet the Wall in Seagoville at
9:00 AM and the procession will come down SH 175, around the square in
Kaufman and out to the site on FM1388.
There we'll have ceremonies, some elected officials' comments and the
ceremonial passing of the stewardship to Kaufman County (actually, the American
Legion). Afterward, there will be free lunch at the American Legion.

Weather: As of Sunday, August 24, 2008, partly cloudy with a high of 91
degrees. As always, one of the keys to proper hydration is to start hydrating
early. The day prior to the mission is not too soon to start. It is, in
fact, recommended by the experts.
There will be no flag/water truck requested for this mission.
Iron Horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated.

Respectfully Submitted,
John Kisel
North Texas Ride Captain
