TO: North Texas Patriot Guard Riders
FROM: Steve Lucas, Deputy State Captain
Fellow riders, while a posting like this is unusual for the mission list, the nature of this message has been determined to be sufficiently significant, especially since it involves one of our own North Texas PGR riders, that it is being posted here. We hope you will agree with the decision.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Brothers and Sisters, Patriots;
This is my first attempt at something like this, so after reading the message below if you have any comments, concerns or suggestions in any way shape, fashion or form...please let me know.
The purpose of this message is to inform you that one of our own, Tony Dukes, is struggling with increasing health issues which are terminal. As you can imagine, the cost associated with his ongoing medical expenses are staggering and his undying dedication to his many missions supporting our Wounded Warriors is becoming more difficult.
As you also may know, our good friend, Super Patriot, God loving and doing man, Mr. Tony Dukes, who spends every waking hour giving, helping and doing for others, is terminally ill and his health steadily declining. But his desire, drive, support, and continuing efforts to help his fellow man never weakens. His assistance and support with our Brothers and Sisters in arms, our Firefighting heroes and all who serve and protect - all of our American heroes - is remarkable, to say the least.
Tony's speeches can be heard from churches to the Sean Hannity show, from Sons of the Republic of Texas to Veterans Groups to many self-help groups. Tony's message is to bring public awareness for the need of continued support for ALL who serve and protect the rest of us. His great humanitarian heart, continued patriotism and Christian values are truly God sent.
As you know one of Tony's greatest contributions is to take wounded soldiers, firefighters, police officers, and all who serve and protect, on hunts to help in their healing process. I have seen him take some of "OUR" heroes who are missing limbs on hunts, and Tony has helped in developing things such as a "mouth-tab" that allows a person missing an arm to shoot a bow - drawn and fired - that not only functioned but brought an animal down. What a remarkable sight that was.
The point of this letter is that with Tony's diminishing health and ongoing medical expenses, coupled with the fact that he pays personally for all the things he does for others, there is just not enough money to go around for him to complete his humanitarian missions.
With that said, my friends, I am conducting a fund raiser for this friend, brother, patriot and friend of each one of us. The plan is to take him to a quiet lunch on December 21st and present him with the proceeds as a holiday gift from his friends.
PLEASE; if there is anything you can contribute, anything, please forward it in time to be received and presented on the 21st. Every cent will go straight to Tony.
Tony is selling his personal possessions in order to continue to provide help for others. You all know him, and you know that sounds just like something he would do if he needed to. He's doing just that.
Thank you for your time and for helping our friend
Mum's the word!! We want this to be a surprise!! [NOTE: Mr. Dukes' subscription to this list serve was temporarily suspended in order to send this message without his knowledge. BluHog]
Merry Christmas, and God Bless to all.
