Part 2 - Escort: Saturday, November 1, 2008, 11:00 AM; 3716 Potomac Ave.
Ft. Worth, TX 76107
Immediately following the 10:30 AM briefing at the funeral home all flag
bikes will follow me over to the home of Mrs. Shrell, approx. one mile, and
escort the family back to the funeral service. Those remaining at the
funeral home chapel will complete the setting of the flag line.
The family would appreciate as many flag bikes as possible to honor Ed, an
American Hero who landed on Normandy Beach shortly after the D-Day invasion.
If you can work it into your schedule please come out in force to support
and honor this family.
Part 3 - Funeral Service: Saturday, November 1, 2008, 11:30 AM, Greenwood
Funeral Home (see Part 1 for location)
We will stand the flag line as usual prior to the service. When the service
starts we will leave the flag line in place and break, and resume the flag
line at the conclusion of the service until the widow leaves. There will be
no graveside service.
Weather: Forecast for Saturday is sunny and a high of 81 degrees. Please
keep an eye on this as we all know how the weather loves to change without
notice. Even though it's November please remember about the importance of
proper hydration. The experts tell us that starting to hydrate the night
before is one of the best ways to prevent problems the next day and remember
that sport drinks like Gatorade are helpful in addition to water in
replacing fluids lost through perspiration.
As many large flag bikes as possible would be greatly appreciated for the
escort.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall, silent, and with honor
and respect for this American Hero and his family.
Iron Horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated. The
support truck with flags and water will present.
Please remember that our mission is to stand tall, silent, and with honor
and respect for this soldier and his family.
Respectfully Submitted,
Dewey "Diehard" Dyer
North Texas Ride Captain
