FINAL ITINERARY

Captain Robert Vallejo, II

Texas Army National Guard

Killed in Iraq, September 18, 2008

Mission Dates; October 1-2, 2008

Ride Captain:

Dewey "Diehard" Dyer, 214-316-8730 (c); dgd4758 at sbcglobal.net

Capt. Vallejo, 28, along with six other National Guardsmen, including four
from Texas, were on their way from Kuwait to Balad to join their unit when
their helicopter crashed in Iraq. The soldiers had been called to active
duty on June 5, 2008. After completing two and a half months of training at
Fort Sill, Oklahoma the soldiers were deployed to Kuwait on August 24. The
CH-47 Chinook was flying in a four-helicopter formation from Kuwait to the
U.S. military base at Balad when it crashed about 60 miles west of Basra.
Military officials suspect a mechanical malfunction. The soldiers were
assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 149th Aviation Regiment, Task force 34, Texas
Army National Guard in Grand Prairie. Capt. Vallejo, a pilot, is survived
by his wife Hillary Ann. He joined the National Guard in April 1999.

Part 3 - Escort and Interment Service: Thursday, October 2, 2008 - 1:30 PM,
DFW National Cemetery

We will participate in the funeral procession from the chapel (see location
information above) to DFW national cemetery for the interment service. At
the time of this posting we do not know the exact time the procession will
begin moving to the cemetery or which shelter will be assigned for the
ceremony. You might want to stash a sandwich in your saddlebags. The time
and shelter information should be available to us by the time of the
visitation and will be briefed there.

Upon arrival, staging at the cemetery is below the shelter area for our
briefing. Big flag bikes will remain with the procession at the visitor
center to escort the procession to the shelter area. Those not
participating in the escort please plan to arrive no later than 1:00 PM and
check at the visitor center to determine which shelter will be used. Please
then park in our usual place on the roadway below the shelter. We will use
flags stored at that shelter and perhaps additional flags that will be
brought by the flag truck. The flag line will be put in place as soon as
possible prior to the ceremony.

Weather: Forecast for Wednesday and Thursday is sunny and a high of 85
degrees. Please keep an eye on this as we all know how the weather loves
to change without notice. Even though it's October please remember about
the importance of proper hydration. The experts tell us that starting to
hydrate the night before is one of the best ways to prevent problems the
next day and remember that sport drinks like Gatorade are helpful in
addition to water in replacing fluids lost through perspiration.

Iron Horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated. The
support truck with flags and water will be at each location.

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall, silent, and with honor
and respect for this soldier and his family.

Respectfully Submitted,

Dewey "Diehard" Dyer
