Colonel John "Jay" Williams Allen, age 46, passed away on April 10, 2009
while on active duty and attending Army War College in Rhode Island.


 

 

Part 1 - Visitation:  Sunday, April 19 - 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM

 

Staging - 3:45 PM; Briefing - 4:00 PM

We will set up our flag line and stand tall and silent as the family and
guests arrive at the funeral home for the visitation.  The flag line will be
in place from 4:45 until 7:00 PM.

 

 

Part 2 - Funeral:  Monday, April 20 - 12:30 PM

 

Staging - 11:00 AM; Briefing - 11:15 AM

We will set up our flag line and stand tall and silent as the family and
guests arrive at the church for the service.  Once the service begins we
will break down the flag line and prepare to ride in the procession to the
cemetery. 

 

 

Part 3 - Escort:  Monday, April 20, 2009 - Following Funeral Service

 

Plymouth Park Baptist Church to DFW National Cemetery.

Following the funeral service we will ride in the funeral procession from
the church to DFW National Cemetery for the interment service.    

 

 

Part 4 - Interment Service:  Monday, April 20, 2009 - 3:00 PM

 

Staging:  Upon escort arrival at the cemetery.

On arrival at the cemetery, big flag bikes will remain at the visitor center
with the procession and remaining bikes will proceed to the parking area
below the shelter to assist with preparations for the service. A short
briefing will be provided at that location. The shelter location is "shelter
B".

For anyone who will not be able to attend Parts 2 and/or 3 of the service,
please be at the shelter area (shelter B) of the cemetery no later than 2:15
PM and ready to begin preparing the area for Colonel Allen's service as soon
as possible following the service immediately before his.

We will use the flags in storage at shelter "B" for this part of the
mission.

 

 

Weather for Visitation: Mostly sunny. Breezy. Highs in the lower 70s.
Northwest winds 15 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph by noon.

 

Weather for the Service: Clear. Highs in the mid 70s.

 

The flag/water truck will be at all locations.

 

Iron horses if you can.  Cages are always welcome and appreciated.

 

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall, silent, and with honor
and respect for this active duty officer and his family.
