FINAL ITINERARY

 

Seaman First Class Pete Garcia; Veteran

United States Navy; World War II

 

Mission Date; April 28, 2009

Mr. Garcia passed away peacefully at Pleasant Manor Health and Rehab in
Waxahachie early Saturday morning. Mr. Garcia was born in Bartlett, Texas
and attended schools in Ennis.  He left high school and joined the US Navy
at seventeen during WWII.  He married Victoria Laza, June 2, 1942 at St.
Johns Catholic Church in Ennis. After his military service he was a Master
Machinist with LTV retiring after 39 years. Mr. Garcia was a gentleman
farmer, loved traveling with his family and gardening.


He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Victoria, 5 sons, 3 daughters, 16
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

We will set up a flag line at the funeral home to receive family members and
guests as they arrive for the service.  We will break down the flag line
when the service starts and we will then have a bit of down time with a
scheduled kick stands up time of noon for the procession.

 

 

Part 2 - Procession and Interment Service:  Tuesday, April 28, 2009 - Noon;

We will ride in the funeral procession from the Boze Funeral Home in
Waxahachie to DFW National Cemetery for Mr. Garcia's interment service.  The
service will be held in shelter B.  Upon arrival at the cemetery big flag
bikes please stay with the procession and others please go to the parking
area below shelter B to prepare the shelter area as soon as the service
prior to Mr. Garcia's has concluded.  Riders not able to attend earlier in
the mission and wanting to meet us at the cemetery, please plan on arriving
no later than 12:30 PM and staging in the parking area below shelter B.  We
will use flags in storage at the shelter for this part of the mission.

 

 

Weather:  Forecast is for thunderstorms with a high of 79 degrees.  Use your
discretion on motorcycles or cages but please consider safety as your
primary concern.  We can honor no one if we don't get there ourselves.

 

The flag/water truck will be present.

 

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall, silent, and with honor
and respect for this soldier from the greatest generation and his family.
