Ladies and Gentlemen,

The North Texas PGR has been asked to join in the welcome home for the men
and women of the 949th Brigade Support Battalion, a part of the 56th
Infantry Brigade Combat Team, TX Army National Guard out of Fort Worth.
They have been in Iraq and are currently in Fort Bliss completing their
processing. We have received word that they are currently scheduled to
return to their armory in Ft. Worth at 4:00PM this Sunday, August 9, 2009.
They are coming home on buses, 400 troops strong.

They have requested a flag line at the armory as part of their welcome home.
No motorcycle escort is planned at this time.

As many of you remember when we brought the 2-149th back home a few months
ago, the Army doesn't seem to tell time like the rest of us so we must do
our best to remain flexible on time frames until we know that the buses are
actually on the highway. At that point we know that the troops will be
"insisting" that no time be wasted getting home. We have good contacts with
the troops actually on the buses and with the Army personnel at the armory
so we are confident in having the latest information as it happens.

For those who have not yet had the opportunity to attend a welcome home as
the troops get in and see family members for the first time since deployment
it's quite heartwarming and something you won't soon forget.

Details of our participation and time frames are being determined and a
final itinerary will be posted as soon as possible.

Thanks, everyone, for all you do.

Steve Lucas

Deputy State Captain

North Texas PGR
