PGR_NTX Patriot Guard Seagoville Welcome Home Event Postponed

Mission Information For North Texas PGR mission at txpgr.org
Fri Aug 7 10:48:32 CDT 2009

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The welcome home event for the 312th Medical Company in Seagoville scheduled
for this weekend has been postponed until, probably, some time in October.
We just got the word. Below is the original posting to help everyone
remember which event this is.

This is NOT the event scheduled for this Sunday with the 949th Brigade
Support Battalion in Fort Worth. That mission is still on and additional
information will be coming out on that soon.

I have been in contact with the unit in Seagoville and they apologized for
the late notice on postponing their event and wanted to be sure that I pass
along how appreciative they are of the PGR's willingness to support them and
their mission and how much they are looking forward to seeing everyone when
another date is set.

Thank you all. The original posting for this event is below.

Commanding General

To Whom It May Concern:

Army Reserve Soldiers who participated in Operation Iraqi
Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom have truly earned the title
"Warrior-Citizen." To honor these Warrior-Citizens, a long awaited,
well-deserved program for all Army Reserve Soldiers who served in the Global
War on Terror in Afghanistan and Iraq has been approved by the U.S. Congress
and former President George W. Bush. The Welcome Home Warrior-Citizen Award
Program provides an appropriate, timely, and enduring memento to Soldiers
and their families. Through this program, we convey in a small way our
Nation's gratitude for their selfless service and sacrifice in support of
the Global War on Terror.

Each Army Reserve Soldier who answered the Nation's call will be
presented an encased American flag, a specially designed commemorative coin
and a lapel pin set for the Soldier and spouse, and a "Welcome home
Warrior-Citizen" flag.

The 312th Medical Company will host a Welcome Home Warrior
Ceremony for its Soldiers that have served in OEF/OIF at 9:00 on Saturday, 8
August 2009. Invitations are being sent to families, employers, co-workers,
community leaders, civic organizations, elected officials and the media.
This is a very special recognition that will help ensure our Soldiers know
their country honors them and their service to our Nation.

The 312th Medical Company would be honored to have you as our
guest to recognize our Soldiers for the demands and sacrifices of being a
citizen-soldier and especially the patriotic pride shared for their service
and support.

Thank you for your consideration in this effort on behalf of all
of our service men and women.

The point of contact for this ceremony is Mrs. Perkins, (972)
287-6847 or email at Amanda.sutphen at usar.army.mil.

Sincerely,
