Ladies and Gentlemen,

Our friend Jerry Castillo has produced another video and this one is of the
welcome home of the troops at the armory in Wylie. If you haven't seen one
of Jerry's videos before I encourage you to take the time to check them out.
I think this one is particularly special because of the joy it depicts when
families are united and troops end their deployment.

One thing to note is that there was a bit of a secret operation we were able
to help with for their welcome home. While it is true that ALL of the unit
came home, one of the unit members suffered a severe injury as a result of
an IED and has been at Walter Reed Hospital for several months. He was not
scheduled to be able to be with the troops when they got back to Wylie and
this disappointed the troops a great deal, as they wanted the unit to be
there as a whole when they came home. It turns out that he was able to
secure a pass for a short period of time and he and his dad flew down on the
day of the return as a surprise to the rest of the unit. Captain Leeper
asked if we could supply 2 riders as an escort from DFW Airport to Wylie and
to keep the whole thing a secret so the troops wouldn't find out about the
surprise. It was a great honor for us to participate in sending 2 flag
bikes to the airport for this part of the mission. During the video you
will notice one soldier on crutches and as the soldiers get off of the buses
many of them come and embrace him with big smiles on their faces. Surprise
achieved.mission accomplished. The entire unit made it back to Wylie
intact, all at one time. Captain Leeper knows how to take care of his
people.

The video link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2XIxSphG8g and I would
like to thank Jerry for making it available to us. And if you can't make
out what the unit is saying when they come to attention in their formation,
it's; "Shoot 'em in the face."

Thanks, everyone.

Steve Lucas
