Ladies and Gentlemen,
Just a quick update and a map to help you see where the Dallas hotels are
for those who are going to be doing the escorts from there.
First, thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to
participate in the Snowball Express events. With our ongoing theme of "It's
All About The Kids" we are moving right along with our plans to put smiles
on faces and show them a great time while they're in town.
Please take a few minutes and sign up as soon as you can if you can possibly
ride escort in any of the events. On the sign up sheets you are given a
choice of which hotel you want to ride from. On a couple of these days we
have multiple hotels with NOBODY signed up yet to go there, and only 1 or 2
riders at a couple of other hotels.and we're not exactly swamped anywhere.
We can move riders around from hotel to hotel since they're all pretty close
together, but if we only have 2 or 3 at a particular hotel, it's tough to
take away from that number. It would be great if we had 10 riders at every
hotel for every time out. I can't put all the statistics we have so far in
this short message, but please believe me that we need lots of riders yet.
If you're thinking of participating in even one of the escorts, please sign
up and come on out. Weather.com only goes out so far, but it looks like
it's going to be great riding weather and we sure don't want any of the kids
going home disappointed because there weren't enough motorcycles.or any
motorcycles.to take them where they were going.
The attached map shows the 10 hotels that Snowball Express is using. We are
escorting from all 10 and there will be a Ride Captain assigned to every
escort. Law enforcement will also be there. You can see that all 10 hotels
are fairly close to each other, with no more than just a few block
separating any 2 of them. The Magnolia and the Adolphus are right across
the street from each other, as are the Sheraton and the Westin. The Indigo
is only about 3-4 blocks from either of these groups. One thing you might
want to write in on the map legend - #2 is the Westin Hotel. It didn't
print under "Points Mapped" for some reason.
Please stay tuned to the North Texas PGR web site at www.txpgr.org for all
the latest updates and sign up sheets. We still have a couple more of those
to put out as we get additional information. We have yet to post the
airport departure escorts on 12/13, we have been asked to have volunteers at
the DFW airport terminal on departure day (12/13) to assist the families on
their way home, and we're still working on a schedule to have folks come and
greet the families as they get to their hotels on the 9th. These are more
great opportunities for folks not riding in the actual escorts to get to see
the kids and family members close up and show them how much you care.
It's all about the kids. Let's make them glad they were here and give them
an experience they can remember the rest of their lives.
Thank you all.
Steve Lucas
Chief Ride Captain
