PGR_NTX Patriot Guard Mission Follow Up

Mission Information For North Texas PGR mission at txpgr.org
Tue Feb 3 14:43:10 CST 2009

Ladies and gentlemen,

This is not a mission announcement but rather more of a follow up to a
series of missions we had in the fall. I'm sure that everyone who was in
the PGR then remembers the tragic crash of the helicopter in Iraq where 6
members of the 2-149th were killed. When 3 of these brave crew members came
home to North Texas, one of our own from the N. TX PGR was on board the
transport plane and many of our own were on hand to meet these brave crew
members and see them to their final resting places. I will use no names of
our people in this message.all were vital to these missions. The North
Texas PGR was present when this unit left the armory. We met many of them
and their families and we rode with them in escort from Grand Prairie to
Bowie and we look forward to being with them again when they come home.
Many of us in N. TX feel a closeness to the 2-149th so I thought I'd share a
little information that just came to me from Captain Stillinger.

When Red River 44 went down in Iraq in September, Captain Robert C. Vallejo
was on board and was killed. I am happy to be able to announce that last
Friday evening at 5:14 PM, his son, Robert Cale Vallejo, III was born. He
was 5 pounds, 12 ounces and is 19 inches tall. Mom and son are doing great
and are home from the hospital. Below is a photo of the newest member of
the battalion. I know all of us in the N. TX PGR are happy for them and
wish them nothing but the best.
