Ladies and Gentlemen,

Below is a mission update and reminder from Mike "Weldermike" Johnson in
Wichita Falls about the mission there that involves our involvement with the
reunion of the Iwo Jima survivors of WWII. This promises to be a great
event and the North Texas monthly Meet and Greet will also be a part of this
event. Please pay close attention to the details below and be sure to
respond as requested. I know that Mike and Barbara and everyone in Wichita
Falls have been working very hard on this for a long time and it's going to
be well worth the trip just to be involved.

Steve Lucas

Deputy State Captain

North Texas PGR

Subject: Iwo Jima Reunion Update

Saturday morning February 21st.

Staging will be at two places:

For those riding in and wanting to warm up and grab a
bite after arriving in town, staging will be at the McDonalds located at
1412 Holliday Road in Wichita Falls, TX. KSU from that point will be at 9:15
for the five minute ride to the Hotel.

For those wishing to go directly to the hotel we will
stage at 9:30 in the north parking lot of the Howard Johnson's Plaza Hotel
located at 401 Broad Street in Wichita Falls,TX. This is the location of the
ceremonies.

The Flag Line will be set up inside the hallway of
the hotel between the lobby and the conference room where the re-enactment
ceremony will be taking place. We will be assisted in the Flag Line this
year by Boy Scout Troop 15.

Once the survivors and their families are seated we
will then join them in the conference room for the speeches and the
re-enactment. As we all know, these heroes are getting to be fewer and fewer
each year, so let's not miss a rare chance to meet and visit with these men
and their families!

After the re-enactment we are having a meet and greet at the
Jalapeno Tree located at 2927 Southwest Parkway in Wichita Falls from 11:00
till 2:30. They are planning an all you can eat buffet of fajitas and the
fixins for approximately $10 per person plus drinks although we will also be
able to order items form the menu for those that prefer to do so.

We would like an approximate head count so the restaurant will have
an idea of how much food to prepare. So please if you can drop a note to
Cecil Yoder at c-b-y at sbcglobal.net, Weldermike at aol.com or BRBJO at aol.com. You
may also call either Barbara at 940-642-5324 or me at 940-224-2872.There are
also will be a raffle to raise expense money for water, plaques and things
like that for this area.

At 3:00 PM we will rally back at the hotel for a fly over and missing
man formation by the Texas Twisters, a group of T-34 airplanes. This should
be an awesome show! Also during the flyover there will be a WWII Veteran
and his son playing Echo Taps.

The area weather forecast at this time is for a low Saturday morning in the
upper 30's and a high of 68 that afternoon, but we all know how the weather
can change in North Texas.

In addition, David Hall with his traveling Liberty Bell is scheduled to be
on Base at Sheppard Elementary Friday morning at 9:00 and at Jefferson
Elementary at 1 that afternoon. If you have never seen the Bell, it is a
sight you won't forget. (Steve Lucas here - It is my understanding that
David will have the bell at the hotel as well but I have not confirmed this
with him.)
