PGR_NTX Patriot Guard Metroplex Mission Reminder

[Mission Information For North Texas PGR]

Ladies and Gentlemen,

 

By now you've noticed that there are two missions tomorrow (Monday 2/23/09)
in the metroplex that are spaced pretty closely together time-wise.  The
funeral service for Mr. Jones is scheduled to begin at 11:30 AM and the
staging for Master Chief Tripplett is at 1:45 PM.  If everything happens
right on time with the first mission, traffic cooperates, everybody eats a
late breakfast, etc., there is a good chance someone may be able to make the
entirety of both missions.  In keeping with our motto, however, of Semper
Gumby - always flexible - let's remember to keep our individual options open
and remember our obligation to do the best we can to honor both of these
very deserving patriots.

 

Rushing around all over the metroplex and possibly taking chances is not
safe and I don't believe it is what either of these men would want us to do.
We cannot honor the service of anyone if we don't get there ourselves.  We
never want to distract in any way from any mission of which we are a part
and I think that hearing of the wreck of a PGR member who was rushing to a
mission would certainly be a distraction to the family and the riders, not
to mention the loved ones of the rider themselves, and is certainly
something we want to avoid.

 

I am not saying it's not possible to attend and participate in both missions
tomorrow.  I am encouraging everyone to please be wise, be safe and let's
make sure we're together as one to honor as many more as we are called upon
to do.

 

Thank you for all you have done and all you continue to do, and I'll see you
tomorrow.
