Ladies and gentlemen,

If anyone thinks that maybe I preach safety too much or that we in North
Texas are too strict with our policy of no road guarding I invite you to
please use the link below and read the story and watch the video from
Houston from this past Saturday. Picture those as your motorcycles.
Picture yourselves in the hospital. These were trained professionals at
what they do. Not an untrained bunch of folks belonging to an escort
company that we ride with so often, but trained police officers working off
duty. We've ridden in escorts run by police officers and know just how
good, efficient and professional they are. Below that are the escort
companies. Below that are people like us who would try to do what they do.
This story and video brings in living color a reminder of why we have no
business trying to do what they do, and why we have no intention of
starting.

Please take 5 minutes out of your day and visit the page, read the brief
story and watch the news report. I never want to see a car parked on a PGR
motorcycle or see a car with a dent in the hood where a PGR rider struck it
with his/her body as they bounced off of it.

For those of you who remember the television show "Hill Street Blues," you
may remember the daily briefing with Sgt. Phil Esterhaus. Few of the
officers paid a whole lot of attention during the briefing but he always
made sure to get their full attention before he said his famous line in each
episode. Do you remember? He said; "Hey, hey, HEY!!! Let's be careful out
there."
