PGR_NTX Patriot Guard Short Notice - Mr. Robert Daves - July 28, 2009

[Mission Information For North Texas PGR]

Ladies and Gentlemen,

 

The family of Mr. Robert Daves has asked that the Patriot Guard participate
in his final services.  This mission will be in interment only mission at
DFW National Cemetery tomorrow (Tuesday), July 28, 2009 at 1:30 PM.  A final
itinerary will be posted for this mission as soon as possible.

 

Just a note on this mission.  This mission had been accepted and scheduled
with the family on Sunday, July 26, 2009 as a funeral, escort and interment
service.  Given the late arriving information regarding Sgt. Owens, which is
obviously a higher level priority mission for the PGR, I contacted the Daves
family and explained the situation.  I felt, however, that since we had
already made a commitment to this family that it would be disrespectful to
completely abandon them and asked them if it would be acceptable to them if
we participated in only the interment service for their loved one and they
were understanding and grateful for anything we could provide.

 

With that in mind, if there are those who, for any reason, are not planning
on attending the event(s) for Sgt. Owens tomorrow and are able to attend the
service for Mr. Daves I ask that you please do so.  I know that his family
would be most appreciative and he is certainly as deserving of our honor and
respect as anyone.  While his interment service may not be a high profile
one, his duty and service to our country should also never be forgotten and
should be honored and recognized as his family and friends mark his passing.
With many, many riders available in the metroplex area we should be able to
provide a quite remarkable show of respect at any venue we choose.  Let's
please try and show our respect and try and comfort these families and both
locations.
