The information below is being passed along from our Texas Help on the Home
front coordinator Debbie Horton.


 

Uncle Gus' Marine on Lake Whitney is sponsoring a Take A Soldier Fishing
tournament to be held on June 27 at Lake Whitney.  Kathy Magers is
encouraging boaters to volunteer their boats and time for the growing number
of veterans' fishing events.  "We owe this group more than a simple day on
the lake," said Magers.  "I can't imagine spending a couple of years in Iraq
or Afghanistan, risking my life, losing a limb, missing my family, only to
come home to the Take a Soldier Fishing tournament and be force to sit on
shore because there weren't enough boats to go around."
