Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am humbled to announce to you that the Patriot Guard Riders of North Texas
have been given the great honor of being chosen to be the honorees and
recipients of a benefit and fund raiser.
James and Nancy of J&N Motorcycle Leather, The American Legion Riders of
Post 569 and the Born Again Ministries Riders have chosen to hold a benefit
and donate the proceeds to the North Texas PGR.
So please mark your calendars for Sunday, April 26, 2009 and plan to be at
3420 B. Roberts Cut Off Road (just off of Hwy. 820) in Lake Worth (that's
James and Nancy's shop) for a wonderful event. Those coming back from
Koyote Ranch, pack it up and get on the road - time's a wastin'!!
Plans include a motorcycle rally and fun run (formerly called a Poker Run),
Bike and Trike Show, live music by Todd Boyer, etc. Most everyone knows
Ollie (The Patch Lady) - She will design a special patch for the event.
B.A.C.A. will have a booth at the event along with others selling candles,
picture frames, Mary Kay, food and drink, etc.
There will also be some "special guest" family members from American Heroes
we have helped to honor.
There has been a request made that the PGR stage off-site and do a "ride-by"
where everyone will be out by the street welcoming us to the event.
More information is still to come regarding the event with staging times and
locations, etc. Our liaison for this from the beginning has been, and still
is, Steve "Ghost" Hirtzel. Any questions can be directed to Steve at
817-371-8498.
As most of you know, it's a rare time when I'm at a loss for words. I'm not
at a complete loss right now, but pretty close. I cannot think of the words
right now to adequately express my thanks to the people who would go to the
trouble to organize something like this for us. But I will try in the
coming weeks. Words also seem to fail me right now in expressing how proud
I am of all the PGR people in North Texas. It's because of YOU that people
in the community are taking the time and trouble to reach out like this. I
sent out a message recently about how YOU make a difference. Now I get to
say 'I told you so'.
Personally, this inspires me. It inspires me to work that much harder to
serve. It inspires me to make that next mission in the cold or in the heat.
It inspires me to try and do my job better than I did it last time.
Again, I thank all of you fine people for allowing me the privilege of
standing in the flag line with you.
Now, what do you say we have some fun with these fine people on April
26!!!!????!!!!
Steve Lucas
Deputy State Captain
North Texas PGR
