Ladies and Gentlemen,
We've been asked by the law enforcement personnel who will be providing our
safety escort from DFW Airport to Gainesville on April 1, to estimate how
many bikes we might have in the procession. This is important to know so
they can estimate the amount of their resources will be necessary to safely
get us from one place to another. We will be going through several law
enforcement jurisdictions and you can imagine that coordinating this is a
complicated task. Our good friend Deputy King, who has taken care of this
in the past for us is again working on this. Everyone please thank him and
shake his hand when you see him at the airport. Given the time of day of
this event, the law enforcement agencies who are volunteering their time to
help us need all the info. they can. I told Deputy King that I was pretty
sure we would have something a bit less than 1000 bikes. I'll not repeat
what he said to me in this more-or-less public forum. J
So..if you are planning on being in this wonderful event from DFW airport to
Gainesville on April 1, please send me an e-mail at pgrlucas at charter.net as
soon as you can so I can give them an estimate. If you are representing a
group, such as a chapter of American Legion riders or Freemason Riders you
can just e-mail me with an approximate number instead of each rider sending
me a separate message. Cages, too. I think it would be great to have a
couple hundred bikes in this escort, or more. The same for the parade on
the 4th. It is a great honor to be invited to escort these heroes and a
great opportunity to see this many of these men gathered together in one
place at the same time. What an opportunity to give them a welcome they
will never forget.
So.please let me hear from you. I'll keep that mail box empty as best I
can. Let's have lots and lots of riders.
Steve Lucas
Deputy State Captain
North Texas PGR
