Ladies and Gentlemen,

 

For those attending, or considering attending, the Archer City mission -
below is the final itinerary, FYI.

This is the Final Itinerary for a Memorial service, May 23, 2009 being
hosted by the Windthorst/Scotland, Texas VFW Post #2676. This event will
honor 3 Fallen Heroes from Windthorst, Tx ---- Leo Blake, WWII, Paul
Himmels, Korea and Gary Johnston, Iraq. The Patriot Guard has been invited
to attend and participate.

Mission: The Johnston Family, family of Marine Sgt Gary Johnston, KIA Iraq,
PGR mission February 2007, have asked to meet with Patriot Guard Riders at
the cemetery in Archer City and ride to Windthorst to start the ceremony.
They invite anyone with a motorcycle to join them at the cemetery and ride
with the PGR to the Memorial event. Riders should be at the cemetery by 9:30
a.m.

Staging: Wichita Falls area Patriot Guard Riders will stage at 8:30 a.m. in
the SE corner of the Southerlands parking lot and KSU will be at 8:45 for
the ride to the Archer City cemetery.  

After meeting with the Johnston family, the Johnstons will lead the ride
leaving the cemetery at 10:00 for the 12 mile ride to the Memorial location
at the Grotto (below St. Mary's Catholic Church) in Windthorst. The Memorial
begins at 11:00 a.m. After arriving PGR will form a flag line forming a
semi-circle around the crowd.

 

Weather: Being late May, we can probably expect high 80 or low 90s and
sunny.  Remember,  this is Texas, so please plan accordingly

Iron horses with flags if you can, cages are always welcome and always
appreciated. Flags are limited, so bring your own if you can.  All bike
groups are welcome to ride with us.

Please remember that our mission is to Stand Tall and Silent, with honor and
respect for The Memorial of Sgt. Gary Jonhston, Leo Blake, Paul Himmels and
their families.

Following the Memorial presentation, lunch will be served and all riders are
encouraged to stay for lunch.
