Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have just learned that 2 Arizona Patriot Guard riders have had an accident
and are hospitalized in Parkland Hospital in Dallas.

Mark and Gwen Meyers had plugged a flat tire and continued on their way when
that tire blew and they went down yesterday at about 1:00 PM. We don't know
exactly where this occurred but they are at Parkland in stable condition.
Mr. Meyers broke ribs, which punctured and collapsed a lung. Ms. Meyers was
injured more seriously, suffering a broken collarbone, broken wrist, broken
tibia and other broken bones and has already had one surgery with more
anticipated. Their son is with them at the hospital. Mr. Meyers is
expected to be released from the hospital in 2-3 days but Ms. Meyers will be
in the hospital longer.

Their son, John, said that visitors would certainly be welcome from fellow
PGR members. Mr. Meyers is in room 516 - bed 2 and Ms. Meyers is in room
515 - bed 1.

I think we all know that a brief visit from a friendly face while so far
away from home over a holiday weekend might mean a lot to these folks. I
don't know that visiting in really large groups would be called for but
letting them know that their PGR brothers and sisters here in North Texas
are here for them and care enough to drop by for a few minutes might sure go
a long way toward speeding their recovery. Let's extend our hand and see if
we can put a little better ending on their trip than they have right now.
Besides, it's the Texas thing to do.

Thank you all.

Steve Lucas

Deputy State Captain

North Texas PGR
