Ladies and Gentlemen,
The escort has been moved to TODAY!! We got the word late this morning and
I sent a quick e-mail posting from DFW national cemetery at the mission
there. The final itinerary is below. We will have 2 police vehicles
(everyone please thank Deputy King when you see him) all the way from Alvord
to the armory in Grand Prairie and please thank Randy for staying with this
day and night.

FINAL ITINERARY
Short Notice
Escort 2-149th Texas National Guard
Mission Date; May 29, 2009

The 2-149th Texas National Guard unit is coming home to Grand Prairie.
Captain Stillinger has asked the Patriot Guard Riders to help bring these
soldiers home. Three busses will depart Ft. Sill no later than 1800 TODAY,
May 29, 2009. We will meet the busses at Alvord and escort to Grand Prairie.
Part 1 - 2-149th Texas National Guard Escort: Friday, May 29, 2009 - 7:30
PM; Alvord, TX to Grand Prairie, TX
Staging - 7:00 PM; Briefing - 7:15 PM
We will stage at the Derrick Truck Stop in Alvord Texas. The truck stop is
located 8.7 miles north of Decatur on 287 on the west side of the road. It
has a large yellow derrick.
Going north bound it is just before the business 287 exit for Alvord. Food
and fuel will be available at the staging point.

Weather: High of 88 degrees and dry.
There will be no flag/water truck for this mission. With warmer weather
beginning, please remember to properly hydrate (including the night before)
before any outdoor activity and to dress appropriately. Do not hesitate to
take a break at any time if you feel you need to get in the shade or get
indoors and always ask for help at any time. Also, please don't forget your
sun screen.
All groups are welcome, iron horses if you can. Cages are always welcome
and appreciated. I know this is very short notice but let's shows these
soldiers a big Texas welcome home. It has been a long deployment for the 2-
149th lets put a smile on their face as they head home to friends and
family.
