Don’t forget the Patriot Guard Missions on November 11, 2009
Bonham, TX - Clyde W. "Sparky" Cosper, Texas State Veterans Home Bonham, TX, The Patriot Guard has been asked to assist with Flags and service appreciation pins and certificates (pin the Vets) after the ceremonies the Patriot Guard Riders are asked to enter the Veteran Home and pin those Veterans that could not make it outside for the event. Denton, TX - Guyer High School Jr. ROTC program, Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to participate in the Flag raising ceremony and honoring of all veterans on hand. We will provide a flag line. Ride Captained by Steve Lucas http://tinyurl.com/ygnfxkp
There will be a group of PGR riders departing after the Denton Ceremony for the Flower Mound Ceremony

While the PGR is being called upon for many special events on or around Veterans Day it should not surprise us, since honoring our nation’s veterans is a primary goal of our organization. I hope that as many riders as possible will put these events on their calendar as we don’t often get to show our appreciation to the communities in this manor.

Keller, TX - Join the city of Keller for military service -10:00 a.m. till 4 pm, Sunday, Nov. 9, 2009, 129 Pecan Street in Keller on, with a C-130 flyovers and address by a two-star general. The day's festivities, which begin at., also include a car show, a street festival, kickboxing demonstrations, and a catered lunch, free for veterans.
Dallas, TX - The Greater Dallas Veterans Foundation Parade, 11:00 a.m., Nov. 11, 2009, the parade route starts at Reunion Arena, heads north on Houston Street, east on Main Street, south on Ervay Street, west on Young Street, south on Akard, and past City Hall.
Fort Worth, TX - Tarrant County Veterans Day Parade – 10:00 am, Nov. 11, 2009- South on Main St to Bluff west to Houston St
Waxahachie, TX - Ellis County Veterans Appreciation Ceremony, 10:00am Nov. 7, 2009 - Speeches and patriotic music, static displays, military vehicles, and public show battle - Waxahachie Civic Center –Breakfast Burritos served at Rick Crabbs home at 8:00am
Garland, TX - Veterans Day Celebration – Nov. 11, 2009, USO-style variety show and live big band concert at the Garland Civic Theatre on the square.
Paris, TX – Ground Breaking for the Red River Valley Veterans Memorial. – Nov. 11, 2009 The memorial is to honor veterans from a six-county area including Lamar, Red River, Delta and Fannin in Northeast Texas and Choctaw and McCurtain counties in Southeast Oklahoma. The centerpiece will be the Ring of Honor, an elevated ring of granite walls containing the names of area soldiers who died from injuries sustained while in the service of our country, beginning with the Texas Revolution through the present-day War in Afghanistan.
