North Texas Patriot Guard Riders and the Central Texas PGR will participate in the arrival, escort, Funeral and Interment Service for Lance Cpl. Shawn P. Hefner of Hico, Texas. Lance Cpl Hefner was killed Nov. 13 when he stepped on an improvised explosive device while supporting combat operations in Helmand province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to 2nd Amphibious Assault Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force. The arrival will be at 11:00 at the Waco Regional Airport followed by an escort to the Rutledge-Jones Funeral Home in Hico, Texas. Funeral Service will be held in Hico, Texas on Friday with interment to follow. Hico is in the Southwestern area of the North Texas region and Waco is the Central Texas region, so both regions will participate. Watch for the Final Itinerary posting.
