Stand Down Information

Just a note to share some updated information concerning the "Stand Down" for the mission at Fisher House at the Dallas VA Hospital. The Veterans Administration Hospital and The Fisher House have always been avid supporters of the Patriot Guard and still share that same opinion. The Fisher House in working through their Corporate Office had set us a small indoor luncheon for the families. The problem was a simple logistics problem, the small lunch area could not accommodate the Liberty Bell or the PGR and refreshment had not been pre-approved for a larger grouping.

Most of us are guilty of reading an email and assuming it was sent with an attitude (which may or may not be correct). The cancellation was done without a reason being stated, it was only after a few more questions were asked that an answer was given.

We as members of the Patriot Guard can only offer our services, at that time it is up to the families or in this case the management to make a determination as to whether or not to accept our offer of service.

Our mission is to support the veterans, their families and their community in any way we can.

The VA received a compliant call from someone who eluded to being with the PGR. This is not a time to complain, argue or point fingers because none of these do anything to honor the veterans.

I ask each of you to please consider that in the future, no matter what the circumstance, before you react ask yourself "How is this going to show honor to the Patriot Guard, the veterans or their families.
