FINAL ITINERARY
Ellis County WWII Honor Flight
October 21, 2009

Once again the PGR and Blue Knights have been asked to accompany the bus carrying our WWII Veterans to the airport for the trip to Washington, D.C. to see their monument. This will be a one-day event as they will fly out and return on the same day. In addition, there will be a contingent of WWII Veterans coming from Athens to Waxahachie the evening before, Tues., Oct. 20th. Mike Lambert (817-368-9076) is in contact with the East Texas PGR to coordinate joining NTX riders with ETX riders for the final leg of that escort into Waxahachie.

We will meet in the parking lot between the Civic Center and the Hampton Inn at 3:30 AM. There will be a safety brief at 3:50 AM, the bus is scheduled to leave no later than 4:20 AM. The Blue Knights will be riding with us so we will be coordinating with them as well. We will be taking the veterans to DFW International Airport, Terminal "E". Gate information is not available at this time.

Part 2: The returning flight is scheduled to arrive at DFW at 10:05 PM, again Terminal "E".

Staging: 9:00 PM at the Shell Station at the south end of DFW Airport. Enter at the south entrance, northbound on International Parkway, take the first exit at the right (Rental Car Drive). At the southeast corner of the off-ramp and Rental Car Drive is the Shell Station. We will have a quick safety brief at 9:20 PM, KSU no later 9:30 PM. This time may be adjusted upon receipt of updated arrival information.

Weather forecast: Not looking good for the return trip. Tuesday night, lows in the mid 60s. Wednesday night, mostly cloudy, showers and thunderstorms likely. Lows in the upper 50s, chance of rain 60%. Please dress accordingly.

There will be no flag and/or water truck on either leg of this mission.

Since this will be a night mission, it is imperative that all auxiliary lighting remain OFF. This means no other lights other than your headlights should be on. Emergency flashers will remain off as well so that turn signals can be utilized.

SPECIAL NOTE: I am currently working on getting information regarding our entrance into the airport. If it is necessary for us stop at the toll gate, it would expedite the process if you would have your bike license number on a 3x5 card or piece of paper for the gate attendant. The cameras are unable to see our plates and they need that information when we pass through. As soon as I find out how this will all work, I will send out a mission detail update.

Respectfully submitted,

Wendy Ingersoll
Ride Captain
