Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to attend 2 separate events in
close proximity to each other and closely spaced time-wise on September 12,
2009 so we are combining them into a single, two-part mission.
Many of you remember our recent mission to escort Brett Wolf to the site of
his new home, provided by Homes For Our Troops. Homes For Our Troops is
having an event at Beaumont Ranch, just off of I-35W, south of Burleson on
September 12 and we have been asked to once again escort Brett and several
other disabled veterans as they arrive at this event. The primary event is
a Sporting Clays shooting tournament but in addition, Dana Bowman, Retired
US Army Golden Knight parachutist who lost both of his legs in a parachuting
accident will be parachuting in and speaking, there will be WWII and Civil
War reenactors present, a mounted riding team, David Hall and the Liberty
Bell, and other activities. We will escort Brett and the other disabled
veterans from Alvarado to Beaumont Ranch on Saturday morning. The exact
time for this event has not yet been determined. It depends on what time
Specialist Wolf and the other veterans want to get to the event, but it is
believed that we will leave Alvarado no later than 10AM and possibly
earlier. A flyer for the event is at the end of this e-mail.
The second part of the mission takes place following a short ride to
Burleson. We will ride down Hwy 174 (Wilshire Boulevard) in Burleson and
open the 3rd Annual Patriotic American Outreach event being hosted by the
Circuit Riders Motorcycle Ministry. The opening ceremony for this event is
at noon, so the ride will start shortly before then. A flyer for that event
is also at the bottom of this e-mail.
The organizers of both of these events have invited our riders to spend the
day at these events and enjoy the day.
Planning is underway already for our participation and final details will be
forthcoming in a final itinerary. Our official duties should be completed
shortly after noon.
Again, the flyers for these events are below.
Thank you all for what you do every day to honor those we serve.
