David Curtis Luhring, age 58, of Plano, Texas, passed away September 3,
2009, in Plano.  David was born in Washington, D.C. to Curtis C. and Evelyn
(Nieman) Luhring.  He married Gloria Gonzalez on September 24, 1973 in
Richardson, Texas.  After graduation, David served in the United States Army
during the Vietnam War.  Upon returning home, David attended Southern
Methodist University and obtained his bachelor degree in engineering.  He
worked thirty-six years for Texas Instruments/Raytheon.  David had a passion
for motorcycles and music and was a member of the Ray Riders.

 

 

Part 1 - Memorial Service:  Sunday, September 6, 2009, 4:00 PM:
Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home 

 

Staging at 3:00 PM; Briefing - 3:15 PM; Flag line in place by 3:30 PM.

We will set our flag line and stand tall and silent to receive family and
guests as they arrive for the service.  The service will consist of a
memorial service only.  There is no procession or graveside service for this
mission.

 

 

Weather:  Forecast for Sunday is for an isolated thunderstorm with a high of
92 degrees

The flag/water truck will be there.

Safety First:  With warmer weather, please remember to properly hydrate
(including the night before) before any outdoor activity and to dress
appropriately.  Do not hesitate to take a break at any time if you feel you
need to get in the shade or get indoors and always ask for help at any time.
Also please do not forget your sun screen. 

Iron horses if you can, cages are always welcome and appreciated. 

Please remember that our mission is to stand tall, silent, and with honor
and respect for this veteran and his family.
