Riders will stage on the side road adjacent to the armory. There will be a
continental breakfast served in the armory at 0730. We will depart for DFW
National Cemetery at 0830. We will be on a tight time line during this
mission. The base is a secure federal area and no firearms are allowed.
Upon arriving at DFW National Cemetery we will form a flag line to honor the
Heroes and Families of "Red River 44", after which we will escort back to
the armory for the Memorial Service.
Part 2 - Memorial Service: Sunday, September 13, 2009, 11:00 AM; 2-149th
Armory Grand Prairie, Texas
After returning to the armory we will provide a flag line along the path
from the armory to the hanger where the Memorial Service will be held. We
will maintain the flag line during the Memorial Service to honor the
families and children of the crew of "Red River 44". The final part of the
Memorial Service will be the dedication of a memorial park, specially
constructed to the memory of the crew of Red River 44. You may remember
that the North Texas PGR contributed a bench for the park during its
construction.
Weather: 90 degrees, T- Storms less than 20% chance of precipitation
We will have a flag and water truck at both DFW National Cemetery for the
interment and at the armory for the memorial service.
Iron horses if you can, big flags will be in demand and, we're sure, quite
appreciated for this mission as we honor the families of all seven Heroes of
the crew of "Red River 44".
Cages are always welcome and appreciated. All groups are welcome to ride
with us as we honor these Heroes.
We have a very special bond with the 2-149th, as we sent them off to war. We
buried their Heroes and we escorted them home as they returned to their
families and loved ones. Please join us as we write a final chapter in the
lives of the family and crew of "Red River 44". Let us NEVER FORGET THEIR
SACRIFICE.
Respectfully Submitted,
