Ladies and Gentlemen,
The North Texas Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the
Glenn Heights 40th Anniversary Celebration tomorrow, September 11, 2009.
This will not be a formal mission for us with a Ride Captain assigned but
all who can make it are very much encouraged to do so. We will be
participating with the American Legion Riders in escorting an American Flag
that flew over the United States Capitol Building to the Glenn Heights
Heritage Park where an Honor Guard of Police and Fire will take possession
of it and raise it in a flag raising ceremony. Following the flag raising
there will be a ceremony honoring our armed services, those who serve in our
emergency services departments and the victims of 9/11. We have also been
asked to remain for the fireworks and to answer questions about the PGR and
about the bikes to the kids and to curious adults as well.
>From Matt Graska of the American Legion Riders, the staging for the ride is
as follows:
We'll meet up at the Shell Station\Whataburger at Bear Creek Road and I-35
at 6:00 PM on Friday, 11 Sep 2009. The Glenn Heights Park is just down the
road about a mile west of the Shell Station. We'll spool up around 6:30 to
arrive at 6:35 at the park.
Again, anyone who is available please take the opportunity to represent the
PGR at this very worthwhile gathering on this historic day both in the
history of the city of Glenn Heights and in the history of our nation.
Thank you.
Steve Lucas
Deputy State Captain
North Texas PGR
