PGR_NTX Patriot Guard Red River 44

[Mission Information For North Texas PGR]

Ladies and Gentlemen,

 

As the mission approaches on Sunday for the fallen of Red River 44, soldiers
of the 2-149th from Grand Prairie I would like to direct you to a short
video.

 

For those of you who were around and present almost a year ago this video
will reacquaint you with the fallen from North Texas and introduce you to
the other 4 gallant men who lost their lives so far away.  For those of you
who weren't with us when we met those men at the airports, escorted them to
their destinations, stood at three funerals and grieved for these men over
those many days this will introduce you to them and let you see who it is
you will be working to honor on Sunday.

 

I know that for all of us those men and their families are never far away
from us and will always be in our hearts.  Seeing this video certainly
brought back very clearly the memories of those missions, including the
sight of the airplane touching down and that Texas flag flying proudly from
atop the plane as it taxied to where the family patiently awaited the
precious cargo.

 

We will roll on Sunday, rain or shine, as all of these families gather at
one place to honor their heroes.  The 2-149th will be there with them this
time and they will all have a chance to grieve together as their comrades
and loved ones are placed in the earth as one.  When they thought of who
would lead them on this journey they thought of us, the Patriot Guard.  It
is we who will be in the front of the procession and taking these heroes
home.  Right behind us is the coach and then the family cars.  The families
and their military family have given us an honor almost too great to
describe.  We will live up to what General Oates said about us when he said
we are "Always There".

 

Please watch the video and listen to the words of the song.  I know I can
speak for the mission Ride Captains when I say that we look forward to
seeing you on Sunday.
