Charlie H. Manhart, Jr.

U.S. Army Veteran

 

Thursday - September 17, 2009

 



 

Charlie was born on November 11, 1926 in Emberson, TX to Charlie Herbert Manhart Sr. and Myrle Bunn Manhart. He graduated from Powderly High School in 1945. He then entered the United States Army, serving in Georgia and later entering into a tour of duty in Italy with the Army of Occupation.  Services are pending with Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home for Charlie H. Manhart, Jr., 82, of Bonham, who died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, in the Veterans Administration Center in Dallas.

Stage #1: we will stage in Sherman at the Lowe's Home Improvement just behind the Chili's Grill on the S.E. corner of Hwy. 75 and Hwy. 82 E. at 12:15 pm with KSU at 12:30 pm prompt after a brief meeting.

 

Stage #2: we will stage at the Wal-Mart in Bonham, TX. on Hwy. 121 just South of Hwy. 82 E. at the gas station.  This will be at 1:00 pm and after a Rider's meeting we will KSU at 1:15 pm to the Church and set a flag line for the Family and Friends for a 2:00 pm Funeral for this fallen soldier from the greatest generation.

The mapping websites will not take you to these areas for some reason, they try to take you 2 miles north or=2
02 miles south of the location.

 



 

Interment: After the Funeral begins, we will break down the line and have volunteer Riders to go on to the cemetery to set up another flag line in preparation of the procession to arrive after the ceremonies are completed.  Big Flag bikes and others will escort the Hearst to Willow Wild Cemetery on the corner of State Hwy. 56 and Hwy. 121 in west Bonham.

 



 

Flag/water truck will be on site but please remember to hydrate the day before and that morning.  We are concerned with the safety of all the Riders and your well being.

All Riders are welcome, Iron Horses if you can and Cages are always welcome.  Please come and stand tall, silent and with respect for this fallen hero from the "greatest generation."  Please help us to honor this soldier, his family and friends during their time of need.
