Obituary:
Gary Eugene Easterly, SGM, USA (Ret.) of McKinney, Texas passed away on January 27, 2010, at his residence.
Gary was born November 17th, 1958 in Yuma, Arizona, to the late Joseph and Betty Jean Easterly.
He married the former Brenda Pipkin on September 12, 1998.
Gary served in the U.S. Army from July 1977 until his retirement in November 2004. Gary served his country proudly by serving in Germany, Korea, Bosnia, Kuwait, Iraq and various state side assignments. Throughout his distinguished military career, Gary continued to receive numerous commendations and medals for his outstanding performance in the line of duty. Some of those medals are the Korean Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal and many others.
Gary’s memory will live on through his wife of 11 years Brenda Easterly; his three sons Dominique Easterly of Jacksonville, Florida, Terrell Harris of Tucson, Arizona and Armand Harris of Newark, New Jersey; five sisters – Penelope Miller of Yuma, Arizona, Avis Taylor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Marcia Easterly of Desoto, Texas, Shelly Lewis of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Kelly Szlemko of Ridgecrest, California; two brothers – Joseph Easterly,II and Timothy Colbert of Toledo, OH; two grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
