Mission:
The family of SP4 Lawrence L. Aldrich has requested the participation of the Patriot Guard Riders in the Interment of their loved one. SP4 Lawrence L. Aldrich, of Fort Worth, Texas, died May 6, 1968 while supporting combat operations in South Vietnam.
SP4 Aldrich was a rifleman assigned to Company B, 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade. On May 6, 1968, he was on a search and clear mission in Bien Dien Province, South Vietnam when a friendly air strike was directed at hostile forces in his vicinity. The bombs were dropped and landed on his last known position. A search of the area was made but with negative results. Sgt. Aldridge has been listed as MIA for the last 42 years. He has now returned home.
Obituary:
Lawrence Lee Aldrich, was born in Fayetteville, NC on 16 July 1947, his home of record is Fort Worth, Texas. Sgt. Aldrich passed away on May 6, 1968, 22 miles northwest of Phu Cat Airfield, South Vietnam. His remains were located 42 years after his death and he has now returned home.
He was never married and his parents have passed. He is survived by three brothers; Darwin Aldridge, Andy Aldridge and Tim Aldridge, two sisters; Jennie Peck and Becky Fuller
