Obituary:
James Alan "Jim" Lester, Born June 21, 1945, Died January 21, 2010, at the age of 64. Graveside service: 2 p.m. Monday in Laurel Land Memorial Park.
Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born to Roscoe "Rocky" Lester and Elizabeth "Betsy" Waldock on June 21, 1945. He met and married Patricia Miller on June 30, 1969, and together they had four children.
Jim was proud to serve in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1971. He was an avid hunter and camper and loved to ride his motorcycle with his friends.
After serving in the Army, Jim opened his own business, JL Company, and worked as a mechanic and machinist for 46 years.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Rocky Lester; mother, Betsy Waldock; aunt, Lillian Walker; and friends, Charles Sparks and Dewey Shields.
Survivors: Wife, Patricia Lester; children, Jackie Thompson, Denise Brooks and husband, Don, Rhonda Lester and Stan, and James Lester and wife, Lisa; grandchildren, Britney and Brandon Brooks, Morgan McKim, Stanley McCall, Janzen Lester, Roy, David and Jason Bean; aunt, Margaret Rhea; cousins, Leah Roppolo and Bill Larkin; brother-in-law, Bobby Miller; sister-in-law, Diane Miller; niece, Patricia Ford and her children; many other nieces, nephews and friends.
