From mission at txpgr.org Wed Oct 27 00:49:26 2010 From: mission at txpgr.org (Mission Information For North Texas PGR) Date: Wed, 27 Oct 2010 00:49:26 -0500 Subject: PGR_NTX Patriot Guard What Happened to the PGR List? Message-ID: Dear North Texas Patriot Guard Riders: We have remained silent on this issue because our job was to provide communications for the Deputy State Captain for North Texas - not to make policy. But given the substantial numbers of inquiries we're receiving, it's clear that many, many Patriot Guard Riders in North Texas have not been made aware of some of the changes that have taken place. Over a period of time, changes have been incrementally made to North Texas PGR's communications systems - this list, the website and associated calendar, and so forth. As these changes were made, we (the three Contact Coordinators) offered to help, given that we have been with the PGR longer than most and had substantial experience. Our input was rejected. Recently, a new process for distributing information to our members in North Texas was created and implemented, and it's clear now that the change-over was insufficiently advertised. I hope this email will help clarify how you can access the new system. THE MOST IMPORTANT JOB we had as your former contact coordinators was to ensure that you, the RIDERS, had the information you need in order to honor the families we all serve. So, PLEASE, if you've not yet done so, get yourself subscribed to the new list so you can again get Mission information. Here's what you need to do: - Point your browser to http://txpgr.org/ - Scroll down below the calendar to the large blue buttons - Top row, second from the left - "SIGN UP FOR EMAIL NOTIFICATION SYSTEM" - hit that and follow the instructions The old "Mission" list serve (the one I'm using to send this) was shut down. At the time it was terminated, we had over one thousand, seven hundred subscribers. The new list has about five hundred (less than a third) so we feel we had to get the word out to those of you who have not heard about the new process. This message has NOT been cleared through or approved by the Deputy State Captain. I take personal responsibility for sending this one last message to you because we believe in the MISSION of the Patriot Guard Riders and we want to ensure as many of you as possible get subscribed to the new system so you can continue to do what we've all done for so long - STAND TALL AND SILENT. Thank you, and God Bless! M. B. "BluHog" Ingersoll Former Contact Coordinator, North Texas PGR -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:
