Wayne was born June 9, 1924, in Como. He was a World War II vet and was married 65 years to his childhood sweetheart, Mildred. Together they both worked at LTV and raised two children, Judy and Michael, moving to Grand Prairie in the early 1950s, then later moving to the small community of Webb. They became active in the local community center, Webb Baptist Church, Webb Lodge #1454, joined the Arlington Saddle Club, playing Western Polo and winning awards, and worked on clearing the area for Joe Pool Lake. After retiring, but not one to sit back and relax, Wayne had several generations of farming in his blood and became a full-time cattleman and farmer, growing vegetables just to give away to friends and family.
