color:blue'>Sometimes we must make an exception to a strict interpretation of a
rule and after conferring with some of the Ride Captains I believe this is one
of those times. After you read about this mission I think you will
agree. This mission is for Mrs. Bobbie Jean Williams. Many of your
know her from meeting her and her husband at the visitor center at DFW National
Cemetery. You may not know of their tireless volunteer work, Mrs.
Williams’ sewing of the flags or their history of riding
motorcycles. While not PGR riders, they embodied the spirit of the PGR,
the caring and the heart of the PGR and we would all do well to live up to
their example. We knew Mrs. Williams and know Mr. Williams. She may
not be a veteran but he is, and I believe them both to be one of us and when
Mr. Williams and his family honored us with this request we believed there was
no way to refuse it. We saw Mr. and Mrs. Williams quite often, giving
selflessly of their time to help and to honor the fallen and their families
right there in the same venue we visit so many times ourselves. When you read
the background in Mike’s itinerary I trust you will feel the same way
that I and others do. The itinerary follows.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

the wife of a WWII veteran. Mr. Tommie Williams and his wife Bobbie Jean
Williams both worked at the Visitor’s Center at the Veterans Cemetery in
Grand Prairie up until January, when Mrs. Williams had a stroke. Mrs.
Williams passed away on April 23<sup>rd</sup>. They were married for <span
style='color:black'>59 years 4 months and 21 days.</span><o:p></o:p></span></h1>
<h1><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";
color:black;font-weight:normal'>Up until October Mrs. Williams not only worked
the desk in the Visitor Center but was also repairing the American flags for
the cemetery and helping to place the flags on holidays. They both did
volunteer work at the VA Hospital whenever possible.</span><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";font-weight:normal'><o:p></o:p></span></h1>
<h1><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";
color:black;font-weight:normal'>The family has asked if the North Texas PGR
would allow Mr. Williams (age 83) to ride on a trike and escort his
wife’s urn to the VA Cemetery to be placed in the Wall. The trike
transportation has been arranged. Mr. Williams told his family that after
seeing the Patriot Guard at the services over the years that he thinks </span><em><span
style='font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";color:black'>“It's
the greatest thing that can be done for the fallen.”</span></em><span
style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman","serif";font-weight:normal'><o:p></o:p></span></h1>

preparing the area for Mrs. Williams’ service as soon as possible
